Our Programs & Workshops

Something special follows almost every General Meeting

One of the many benefits of being a part of Sunset Slope Quilters is the opportunity for members to learn new skills and grow their talents through exclusive Programs and interesting Workshops, all year long. Sometimes we take a break, for instance, in December for our Christmas party, but most months we’ve done the homework to find a guest speaker or teacher who can enliven, engage and entertain our group.

These guests don’t simply lecture, they often help put their knowledge to practical effect at a Workshop.

You can access our upcoming  Programs & Workshops by their month (and review prior programs) in the menu at the top of the page.

Block of the Month Program

Each month a new Block of the Month is presented with the challenge to all members to try a new technique or block style.  Those participating in this challenge bring their new block to be placed on display.  It is amazing how a single block pattern can change with a change of color and fabric style.  At the end of the 12 month period you can have enough blocks to make a wonderful new quilt project.  Patterns are provided to members only.  Come join us and put your creativity to work.

 February

It’s Rendezvous Time.   A tradition for Sunset Slope Quilters.

Rendezvous features classes taught by the talented members of our guild, providing an opportunity for learning as well as a chance to get to know others in a relaxed atmosphere. After all, the social aspect of quilting can be very relaxing as well as inspiring and it occurs at a time of year when you are itching” to be stitching outside of the home.

September

It’s our Birthday Bash! Get together for a wonderful celebration and lunch.

Barnes and Noble Book Fair and Quilt Show

Barnes & Noble has sponsored this fund raising event with Sunset Slope Quilters since 2006.  The Barnes & Noble book fair is a great place to do a little shopping, have a cup of coffee or tea and spend a little time finishing up on your last minute sewing while spending time with other SSQ members.  It is a great opportunity to show the community the artistic and charitable things we do as quilters.

Our Spring Book Fair and Quilt Show featured our guild challenge called the “Deck of Cards”.  View our “Deck of Cards”
